You might want to know how my camera became a close friend to me.
I bought a Minolta MAXXUM 5000 in 1990. It was the last camera in a store and I got a good deal, since it was no longer made.
I planned to use it in medical practice. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity on my original plan. Nevertheless my camera became a close friend to me, and accompanied me in overcoming the tough events in my life.
The first photo that got my attention was three seagulls on a beach. Does this picture violate a rule of photography: don't center the main object?
Looking at that picture, I wished, I could fly like a seagull in my career.
A photographer encouraged me to take more pictures like this.
Yes, sea lions enjoy swimming in the wild seas. We must learn how to overcome the waves in a challenging world.
Digital graphics dramatically changed photography. Three years ago, I got a Christmas gift: a B class Sony digital still camera - Cyber-shot DSC-828. The B class means it was returned by a customer and refurbished.
It turned out the camera gave me plenty of good results. Its advantages include a light-sensitive lens and flexible lens position, which make it possible to avoid the tripod for almost all pictures I have taken.
The more pictures I took, the more interests I developed. The more I play with my camera, the closer the friendship between us. I started to decorate our home and my children’s with my photos to express my best wishes. They suggested that I display my pictures on the Internet.
Now I barely use the Minolta. This camera is worth no more one hundred dollars on eBay. I don’t want to sell it but keep it - as one of my trusty and close friends who helped me fight the difficulties in my life.
The pictures displayed on this website were taken by the Minolta or Sony DSC-828, most of them with the latter. Comments on my work are welcome!
